Ghost Seen at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Soap Factory in Minneapolis
Local ghost enthusiasts captured a spooky apparition on camera at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis on Saturday, October 17, 2020 on a Real Ghost Tour

On a chilly, October night in Minneapolis, a group of supernatural fanatics and otherwise daring folks ventured into the dark to explore and learn the haunted tales of the St. Anthony neighborhood.

These amateur paranormal investigators were on a Real Ghost Tour, which guide folks past the Pillsbury A Mill, the Stone Arch Bridge, and to the site of the most recent ghost sighting– the Soap Factory.

The Soap Factory is one of the oldest factories in Minneapolis, known for producing (you guessed it!) soap. The process of making soap required lots of fats, lye, and extremely hot temperatures. It wasn’t the most glorious or safest workplace in its day.

That being said, there are legends regarding malpractice taking place at the factory. Animal fats from local restaurants were taken to be made into soap, and there are also rumors of the factory’s use of child labor. Some even say that bits of children were used to make the soap extra soft. . .

Whatever you choose to believe, there is no denying that the site contains a negative energy which penetrates visitors as they cross by its grounds. Do you ever feel like you’re being watched? That is what it constantly feels like in this dark void of an area. Hauntings in Minnesota are real, and the Soap Factory is a prime example of that.

Although the Soap Factory is now shut down, those who enjoy being scared know it as the former location for the “Haunted Basement.” Many unexplained sights, sounds, and other phenomena have occurred during this Halloween-themed attraction.

The Haunted Basement isn’t the only time people have been frightened by the factory. On Real Ghost Tours there is a stop outside the abandoned building where the tour guide explains a bit of its dark history, as well as offers guests the chance to investigate the area. Using real ghost hunting equipment, folks have the opportunity to capture the lost souls who still lurk around the site.

On Saturday, October 17, 2020, two ghost hunters took a photo of the Soap Factory while on this Real Ghost Tours stop. What they captured was chilling.

Spotted in the above photo is an orb. An orb in theory is a free-floating light or sphere of energy, often considered to be evidence of spirits or souls.

This ghost sighting serves as an example to all the paranormal activity that occurs in Minnesota’s oldest buildings.
